Dinesh Patel, Ph.D. Managing Director of vSpring Capital, Chairman of the Board
 Q Therapeutics' lead venture investor, Dr. Patel serves as Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors. Prior to joining in the formation of vSpring in 2002, Dr. Patel served for 14 years as a co-founder, President, CEO and Chairman of TheraTech, Inc., a Salt Lake City drug delivery company that was acquired by Watson Pharmaceuticals. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Michigan, a M.S. from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and a B.S. from Gujarat University, India.
Deborah Eppstein, Ph.D.President, CEO, and Director Dr. Eppstein has over 28 years experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, with the last 18 in entrepreneurial roles. She was founding CEO of Altea Therapeutics, a venture-backed company developing products for pain and diabetes. Previously, she was Vice President of Corporate Development at TheraTech and was involved with the IPO, partnering, achieving profitability and subsequent sale of the company; earlier she was Director of Corporate Development and Head of Biochemistry, Virology and Tumor Biology at Syntex (now Roche). Dr. Eppstein received a B.A., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Grinnell College, a Ph.D. with honors in biochemistry from the University of Arkansas, and conducted research in virology and cell biology as an NIH postdoctoral fellow at University of California at Santa Barbara.
Peter Barton Hutt, Esq. Senior Counsel, Covington & Burling LLP
 Mr. Hutt has been a partner of the Washington, D.C.-based law firm of Covington & Burling, specializing in food and drug law, since 1968, except for the period from 1971 to 1975 when he served as Chief Counsel of the FDA. He received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Yale University, a L.L.B. from Harvard Law School and a L.L.M. from New York University. He has served on the boards of several publicly traded biotechnology companies and is a member of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences. Mr. Hutt has received numerous honors, including being named by the National Law Journal as one of the 40 best health care attorneys in the United States.
Linda D. Sonntag, Ph.D. Former CEO of SyStemix
Dr. Sonntag helped pioneer the field of stem cell therapeutics as the CEO of SyStemix, Inc., the first cellular therapy company in North America, which was acquired by Sandoz (now Novartis). Dr. Sonntag also has a background in life science investment as a general partner of Axiom Venture Partners from 1995 to 2003. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and was a post-doctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Herbert Boyer at the University of California, San Francisco.
Joydeep Goswami, Ph.D., MBA Vice President of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, Invitrogen Corporation
 Joydeep Goswami is the Vice President of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine at Invitrogen, and heads up Invitrogen's Stem Cell Business. Prior to his current role, Joydeep led Invitrogen's Global Technology In-Licensing Group. Before joining Invitrogen, Joydeep was with McKinsey & Co., where he served major clients in the pharmaceutical, medical products, chemical, and technology industries in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America on strategic and operational issues in the areas of Research & Development, Market Strategy, and Licensing Strategy. Joydeep holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Linda Powers, Esq. Managing Director and co-founder of Toucan Capital LLC
 Ms. Powers has more than 8 years — experience in seed and early stage venture investing, and over 15 years — background in corporate finance and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and intellectual property licensing. Ms. Powers holds a A.B. degree in economics from Princeton University, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, as well as a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
